Tanner’s P.A.W.S. realizes that the prevention of cruelty to animals is an extremely important issue facing our community. Tanner’s P.A.W.S. feels that by incorporating as a not-for-profit organization, we can provide services to animals, emphasizing the need for services of those animals in abusive or neglectful situations. Our plan is to start out small by rescuing and adopting animals that the Dog Control Officer (DCO) seizes and dependent on available funding sources and volunteers, the organization will grow.

About Our Board
Sue Preset: Sue was the first to respond to a post on Facebook seeking assistance and volunteers for Board Members. Sue was the Finance Director at Corning Hospital and is now the Union Liaison for Union 1199. Sue has grown up with animals and she is our foster for pregnant females and difficult to adopt dogs. Sue has 30 years of experience with raising puppies and has rescued animals since she can remember. Sue is Tanner’s P.A.W.S. Treasurer.
Toi Nehring: Toi joined the Board in August 2013. Toi is a Licensed Practical Nurse. Toi is our acting Secretary. Toi has been an avid animal lover her whole life. Toi started as a volunteer with Tanner’s P.A.W.S. and was then appointed as a board member.
Amie Burnett: Amie began by attending board meetings and volunteering in June of 2012. Shortly thereafter, she was appointed as Vice President. Amie took a leave of absence to finish her nursing curriculum at Corning Community College and to study for the NCLEX. Now a Licensed Registered Nurse at Robert Packer Hospital, Amie is again busily involved as a volunteer and foster for both Tanner’s P.A.W.S. and Buffalo Pug and Small Breed Rescue.
